Each year, millions of children
and adults die and suffer from diseases and disorders that could
be prevented by current and future vaccines. JN-International
investing to accelerate the development and introduction of
appropriate and affordable vaccines in impoverished countries.
Starting with a vaccines to prevent Meningococcal
meningitis, Stroke, Hepatitis C, Herpes, Tuberculosis - the
largest causes of deaths around the world - the current efforts
on JN promise to create for these vaccines for the nations
around the world. |

Meningococcal
A.C.Y.W-135 Diphtheria
Toxoid vaccine
Epidemic meningococcal meningitis is an important public
health problem in sub-Saharan Africa. Current control
measures rely on reactive immunizations with
polysaccharide (PS) vaccines that do not induce herd
immunity and are of limited effectiveness in those under
2 years of age.
Meningococcal groups A C
Y and W-135 DT conjugate vaccines were developed using a
genetically detoxified Diphtheria Toxoid as the protein
carrier. Phase 3 trial is successfully completed
and approved by Ministry of Health of Côte
d'Ivoire in North Ivory Coast using
100 sero-negative male and female volunteers.
Protective Sero-conversion
recorded in 98% individuals tested by Institute Pasture
Research Institute in Ivory Coast.
Diphtheria Toxoid was
chosen for low-cost vaccine production. This childhood
vaccine may be introduced in Africa during year 2008 for
infant immunization at two, three and four months of
age.
The vaccine had a
tremendous impact on the incidence of the disease,
resulting in a more than 90% decrease in the number of
deaths and clinical cases, and a 66% decrease in
asymptomatic carriage (cf. WHO) in sub-Saharan Africa.
Neisseria
meningitides serotype X polysaccharide vaccine
A recent 2007 outbreak of
X serotype in Niger and Uganda ( WHO )
allowed us to develop vaccine against this pathogen. We
isolated the pathogen and typed as X serogroup from
spinal fluid of infected people. Colonization of
Neisseria serotypes also found in mucosal secretions. If
allows by regulatory, we may include this serotype
vaccine to our Quadravalent to make A,C,Y,W-135 and X
polysaccharide vaccine.

Clinical Trial__________________
Stroke
Vaccine
This first stage of stroke clinical trials is designed to gain basic safety and pharmacologic information. Single or multiple conservative doses of the drug will be administered to volunteers. Analysis of these studies allow JN to assess the drug’s mechanism of action in humans, pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, side effects of various doses, safe dosage range, and the optimal route of administration. Animal model experiments using pigs were successfully proved that the vaccine can can protect and cure the Endothelia-1 induced MCA occlusion in experimental pigs with no side effects or damage to vital organs. Memory related aspects in vaccination and treated pigs still under evaluation by
"Hippocampal Retrieval of Food-Flavor Memory in Experimental Pigs"., unless and until this parameter is proved to be successful, the project cannot move to human trials.

Hepatitis C DNA / Protein Vaccine
The current invention draws scope of newer methodologies in the development of vaccine against Hepatitis C virus genotype-1a and b on the basis of phylogenetic analysis of nucleotide sequences of NS3/NS4a genes of multiple genotypes and subtypes of Flaviviruses. The immunization of r-NS3/NS4a protein or DNA induced humoral and cell mediated protective immune response against Hepatitis C viruses 1a and 1b in mouse models and not sure how it works for human? unless we go for Phase 1 in 2008.
